We are a community of Christians who take care to listen to Jesus’ voice first.
So, when Jesus says to “love” -- we listen. He tells us to love not just our friends, but the person we meet by chance along the road, the person who is our neighbor, the person who hates us and is out to get us and even God, we are to love even God, who made this crazy world.
We “walk by faith and not by sight.”
These words from the Bible remind us that there is no certainty in the world. So we agree to be friends with each other and anyone else who would make such an agreement with us to listen first to Jesus’ voice.

Continuing The Work Of Jesus: Peacefully, Simply, Together.
We start with worship because we realize that we are dependent upon the Spirit of God working in us and it is in worship where we connect with God together. To be a disciple is to learn a pattern of life from another, in this case it is Jesus. His pattern, simply put, is love. Part of Jesus’ love is to live in service of others, we want to learn to do that.
In all this we understand that Jesus and his pattern for life need to be brought into the world. This is Jesus’ “work” which we would “continue.” How do we do that? Well, peace is a quality of Jesus’ life. It is not an easy peace of passivity, but rather an active peace which puts the self out there to bring people together. To live simply means to get rid of things which distract us from offering our love. To be together is where we started, in community, taking care to listen to the voice of Jesus.
